Two Poems: "Under the Madness" and "The Door"

Kai Lee

Under the Madness
Crazy thoughts spinning in circles
Round and round like a dying clock
The tick tock tick and the ding dong ding
Life flashes in whisper-thin panels
A movie for the individual
A serenade of visuals
Just another drop will make me happy
Just another song to drown in
But my mind still spins
A serenade of visuals
A movie for the individual
Life flashes in whisper-thin panels
The tick tock tick and the ding dong ding
Round and round like a dying clock
Crazy thoughts spinning in circles
The Door
Never Opens
Never Closes
The rooftop flutters
With sunlight and motion
But trapped inside
No one speaks
The tiny lord
Shrouded in mystique
A godly glow
Green and wise
Doesn’t stop
The sage’s lies
Forget the prisoner of wisdom
Forget the one who makes you whole
The lord trapped inside her prison
As she loses her heart and soul
Kai is a 14-year-old poet whose home is in Michigan, USA. They haven’t been into poetry for long, but they know that effort is what makes a good poet. With a passion for word play and motivation from friends, Kai attributes everything to their supportive community of family and friends who kept them going while they were writing. They would like to say to all young poets out there: just keep persevering. Kai started out with failure, and they encourage those who fail to pick themselves up again and just keep writing!
