Alexandria Peary
BIO:

Alexandria Peary serves as New Hampshire Poet Laureate and is the author of nine books, including Control Bird Alt Delete (Iowa Poetry Prize), Prolific Moment: Theory and Practice of Mindfulness for Writing, and Battle of Silicon Valley at Daybreak. Her work has received a 2020 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship, the Iowa Poetry Prize, Slope Editions Book Prize, Joseph Langland Award, Best of New Hampshire, Notable Essay in Best American Essays, and a 2021 Outstanding Faculty Award (nominated by students). Her writing has appeared in New American Writing, Gettysburg Review, New York Times, Southern Humanities Review, Crazyhorse, North American Review, New England Review, Denver Quarterly, and elsewhere. She is the director of the 2021 North Country Young Writers’ Festival and the architect and host of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)’s mindful writing web series. She teaches at Salem State University and specializes in mindful writing.
